These wonderful films capture the British Golden Age Airlines scene of the late 1940s and 1950s. This was the time when BOAC was emerging as Britain’s international overseas airline, and BEA was Britain’s leading domestic and short haul carrier.
It was also during this glorious era that Britain was a world leader in the development of commercial aeroplanes with many marques in the offing including the Brabazon, Elizabethan, De Havilland Comet, and of course the world’s first turboprop, the Rolls Royce Dart powered Vickers Viscount.
