In this video Niels documents the very last day of KLM Fokker 70 operations, Saturday, Otcober 28, 2017. On that historic day Niels flew on the final KLM Fokker 70 last between Amsterdam and Dusseldorf. But first, Niels and JetFlix founder Henry Tenby spent some time on the Amsterdam observation deck which is in the passenger gate area of the airport. Passengers have to clear through security before they can visit the small observation deck, which surely must be the only such observation deck at a major airport, post security, in the world.

Henry flew on the last ever KLM Fokker 70 service to Basel and back that day (which is also featured here on JetFlix TV as a mini series) and Niels enjoyed his flight to Dusseldorf, where he did some spotting with other spotters, and then flew the last ever KLM Fokker 70 from DUS back to AMS. This last flight took place is dusk to night conditions, and the video experience of taxiing (at both airports) and flying in dark presents a very nice visual treat for the JetFlix viewer. Of course the final landing at Amsterdam is very special and we are very much appreciative that Niels was able to document this amazing event for everyone’s viewing pleasure.
