This newsreel movie provides a narrated highlight of the aircraft presented at the SBAC (Society of British Aircraft Builders) Farnborough Airshow of 1949. The immediate postwar years saw Britain enter perhaps its most ambitious period of aircraft development with a wide range of both civilian and military aircraft being developed for the post war world of commerce leading into the jet age of the 1950s.
