In 2014 on this same tour we flew on Air Koryo’s IL-18 from Pyongyang to Samjiyon for our day tour visit to the famous Mount Paektu spiritual and cultural landmark site visit. But in 2015, we were very lucky and flew aboard Air Koryo IL-62 P-885 for our day return between Pyongyang and Samjiyon airport. This video provides a fantastic all immersive viewing experience of this classic VC-10 lookalike airliner, including the Pyongyang takeoff, plenty of onboard footage, and the wonderful landing at Samjiyon, right to engine shutdown. Nothing beats the IL-62! The flight time from Pyongyang to Samjiyon was 42 minutes.
