Panair do Brasil DC-8-33 to Lisbon1964

This aircraft PP-PEF was purchased from Pan Am on 11/13/63, and sold back to Pan Am on 9/9/65. She flew for the Brasilian carrier just long enough to make this movie! Gorgeous B&W cinematography, a classic jetliner with beautifully polished aluminum engine cowlings, and a pretty 1960s Stewardess.

Mk IX Spitfire sold for £1.7 million!

Spitfire restored at Thruxton fetched £1.7 million at this weeks auction at an RAF museum in Hendon. The two-seater Vickers-Supermarine Spitfire Tr Mark IX was bought on Monday by adventurer Steve Brooks who was the first person to fly pole-to-pole by helicopter, landing in Antarctica in January 2005.

The majority Hawkair’s work involved hauling between Bronson Creek’s gravel airstrip and Wrangell in support of the Snipe Mine.
