This 25 minute US Navy publicity film dates from 1953, and it tells the story of what is involved in being a photo recon pilot flying the Grumman F9F Panther during the Korean War.
The film opens with introduction to the VC61 Composite Squadron at NAS Miramar in San Diego, California where the new F9F pilots are introduced to the requirements and challenges of being a photo recon pilot, which is seemingly every bit as dangerous and complicated as engaging in air to air combat and dropping bombs.
