Today it is essentially impossible for the hard core aviation enthusiast to secure a flight in an IL-18. Back in September of 2010, a group of aviation flight hounds took part in a series of pleasure flights aboard one of the world’s last passenger carrying IL-18s. They chartered Tandem Aero IL-18 ER-ICB from Chisinau, Moldova to Zhuliani, Ukraine, flying onto Marculesti in Moldova.”

This trip was filmed by JetFlix videographer Chris Mak and the show takes the viewer along for this amazing trip with most of the footage (take-offs and landings) filmed from in the passenger cabin. There are some visits to the flight-deck while in flight, but all landings and take-offs were filmed through the passenger windows showing the mighty Ivechenko engines earning their smokey keep, complemented with the wonderful engine sounds that fill the passenger cabin!
