Back in the 1970s Nor-Fly was a Norway based ad-hoc charter airline that operated a former Finnair Convair 440s LN-MAP and LN-KLK within Europe. By the early 1980s their operations had reduced significantly but Convair 440 LN-KLK was taken over by a group of aviation enthusiasts to operate fan trips under the new banner of the “Metropolitan Club”.
This club was operational during the mid to late 1980s and this historic video celebrates a typical aviation enthusiast fan trip on this amazing aircraft. It is believed that this Convair 440 LN-KLK ws purchased from SAS in 1975 and taken over by the Metropolitan club in 1984, and then retired from flying in 1989. The aircraft is now preserved at the Stavanger Sola Flyhistorik Museum.
